The good news is that you have no reason to fear- the problem could simply be how you’re approaching your skincare routine.

1. You’re Applying Moisturizer at the Wrong Time
It may seem like common sense to apply moisturizer to dry skin after getting out of the shower or when you feel tight—but that’s too late! To get the most out of your moisturizer, you should have a little water already on your skin, preferably after washing or toning your face. This will lock in your skin’s natural hydration process and make your skin less likely to become dry—even after moisturizing. Those with oily skin know that over-drying can actually make your skin oilier (since your body needs to produce more oil than you need to compensate for the dryness), so applying your moisturizer at the right time will help your skin to avoid feeling both too dry and too oily.
2. Be Consistent In Your Skin Care Routine
It’s important for you to have a regular, daily routine when it comes to hydrating your skin. While there are so many choices for products on the market, make sure you give your current product enough time to produce results for your skin. Sometimes it’s easy to abandon a product if it doesn’t provide quick results, but having great skin takes time, assuming you’re using the right products.

So stop rubbing and wiping your moisturizer, and start patting the product on your face instead. Patting your skin actually increases pressure and heat, thus helping your skin to absorb moisture better.
5. Clear the Way for Hydration
It's extremely important to exfoliate your face often, as a build up of dead skin cells can prohibit your face moisturizers from properly penetrating your skin. Make sure to wash your face 2 to 3 days per week with a gentle scrub to get rid of dead skin cells.
