Sensitive skin can be caused by many factors, but one of the most common causes is the use of harsh, artificially-derived products on your skin. What many people don’t know is that harsh ingredients are found in most facial care products, even in those claimed to be “for sensitive skin”. Chemicals and ingredients such as alcohol, parabens, fragrances, formaldehyde, and even beta hydroxy acids and retinoids can cause reactions in easily irritated skin. Red and blotchy skin can be caused by many things, with the most common culprits being use of harsh skin products, exposure to cold weather, over-exfoliation, and exercise. How do you fix this? Make sure to keep your skin hydrated, for one thing. Perhaps choose a skin care product that holds moisture throughout the day to protect it from daily irritants such as air pollution, dirt, and grime. If you suffer from redness, you should also avoid aggressive exfoliating and beware of scrubs and chemical peels. These can strip away not only dead skin, but also the tender, newer cells beneath. Make sure to treat your skin with anti-inflammatory minerals and botanicals to ease the redness.

                Dryness and Flaking:
